TILE WALL |
The Tile Wall project in Marlinton was completed in 2007. Students from Pocahontas County High School completed the tiles in a workshop taught by Cynthia Gurreri, that we sponsored. Volunteers hung the tiles on the wall of the former Dollar General building on second avenue. This project was a revisit to a similar one sponsored by the PCAC in the 1990's. Students at that time were taught by Roselyn Leary and a tile wall was constructed. The effects of time caused the us to rebuild the wall, and as a result more students were able to participate. There are a mix of old and new tiles on the wall now. We hope that you stop and look at the tile wall when you are in Marlinton. |
