PIONEER DAYS ART SHOW |
The Pocahontas County Arts Council Inc. sponsors our annual art show during Pioneer Days in Marlinton, which is the first full week after the 4th of July. We advertise in the Pocahontas Times, and other area newspapers, in June for the days and hours we are able to receive art objects at the McClintic Library. Adults have nine categories and artists can submit as many as six items. Cash prizes and ribbons are offered for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each category along with with a best in show award. Children through 12th grade may participate and art works are displayed by grade level, with cash awards and ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, for each grade level, plus two overall awards. Qualified judges come from out of town to judge each piece of art work before the show. The prizes are on the last Saturday of Pioneer Days. We hope you stop in to the McClintic Library to see the show and / or submit some art work. |
